European History of Law - 9 CFU - 24/25
The European History of Law course is framed within the general objective of Global Law and Transnational Legal Studies, focusing on legal comparison. This approach enables students to explore different legal models, practices, and cultures that define the scope of global and transnational law.
The course aims to equip students with an in-depth understanding, from a historical-juridical perspective, of the institutional and intellectual elements common to European legal systems. By examining the historical transformations of law, the course seeks to foster an awareness of the development, relativity, and evolution of legal phenomena.
Special attention will also be given to the study of changes in non-European legal systems that both influenced and were influenced by legal evolution in Europe.
